Lending Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization established for the purpose of helping the world's poorest entrepreneurs with Education and Capital to start or sustain a small business. What makes Lending Hope unique in the area of microfinance is that we provide our candidates with the primordial tools to start a micro-business. Beginning with free business workshops, funded by Lending Hope, we provide our micro-entrepreneurs with basic business training and education. Upon the completion of the economic program, our recipients receive initial Capital to enable them to start a microenterprise. We aim to help the poorest and most vulnerable, especially women and young people in displaced areas. We focus on areas mostly in the outskirts of capitals of third world countries.

Microcredit has been proven to be the most effective way to alleviate poverty. Our system empowers each individual to become self-reliant and gives them a chance to regain their dignity by giving them the means to independently provide for their families and themselves. Our goal is for permanent changes in the livelihoods of thousands of people.

Lending Hope's vision is a world where everybody has the chance to develop their lives to their full potential, and at the very least, be able to provide for themselves, in a sustainable way, the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. Therefore, our participants live with dignity in a society of liberty and justice.

The Conceptual Framework of Lending Hope Foundation lies in the understanding of the Integral Human Development, the key elements of which are:

· The wellbeing of each and every person in all areas: socio-economic, cultural, political, spiritual and ecological.
· Solidarity, by emphasizing the inalienable rights of the individual, but with those rights come the responsibilities of each person and of every person to one another.
· Liberty and justice in a society that respects the dignity of every person.

 

Lending Hope School

One year ago, Heaven Hill Academy could start providing a schoolbus for the children. There are 55 students from age 2 to 13 living near Besishahar, which drive to school with the schoolbus everyday.

Because these kids are from very poor families of the lower casts, they cannot afford going to school in Besishahar, so the only way for them to get an education is to go to Heaven Hill Academy.

Without our schoolbus, the students would have to walk up to Gaunsahar for up to 2 hours, which especially for the younger children is just impossible.

The drivers and the gasoline as well as the maintenance of the schoolbus cost a lot of money each month, so a regular funding is needed to be able to continue the project and therefore provide education to all the students who need it.

2020 Projects

Mural at the Casa Ricardo Palma Museum in Lima, Peru

Ricardo Palma was the greatest Peruvian writer and intellectual of the XIX century,
creator of the famous book "Tradiciones Peruanas."
This project was done again with the cooperation of the Municipality of Miraflores and
renowned Peruvian muralist Daniel Cortez Torres, and funded by Lending Hope
Foundation. The renovated museum was inaugurated on October 6, 2020, exactly
101 years after his death on October 6, 1919 and exactly 50 years after its original
opening of the Museum back on October 6, 1969.

Project "Ollas Comunes" in San Juan de Lurigancho - Sept. 2020 and again April 2021

During the times of COVID, the total lockdown in Peru produced chaos
all over. Hoards of people from Lima were obligated to leave the capital and back
to their villages where they came from, looking for a better life. Without the help of
the government, many people experienced hunger and despair, looking for ways
to feed their families.
Lending Hope Foundation supported several "Ollas Comunes"
in this populous District of Lima situated in the Cono Este.

Lending Hope Foundation is now in Nepal

In 2014 Lending Hope Foundation expanded to Nepal. Nepal is located in the NE of India. It has a population of 28 million people with 2 million living in its Capital, Kathmandu. I visited Kathmandu in October of 2014 and was impressed with the richness and diversity of its people. This is truly a melting pot of many different cultures. Kathmandu has an elevation of 4600’ and is located in a bowl shaped Valley of Central Nepal. Most of the people in Kathmandu follow the Hinduism and many others Buddhism. The mountainous north has eight of the world’s ten highest mountains, the highest of all being the famous Everest Mountain.

Amidst the green valley and the majestic mountains, about half of the population lives below the international poverty level of U.S. $1.25 per day. Lending Hope Foundation started in October of 2014 and among the first recipients of our Micro-loans were a tailor, a Maps shop, a Toddler’s Babysitting establishment, a vegetable shop, a shoe manufacturer and a PVC pipe shop.

As you can see, every penny of your donation is making a big difference in someone else’s life clear across the other side of the world.
